Style Gawking {NYFW}

While I've never had the pleasure of attending New York Fashion Week, I"m always amazed/in awe/rather envious of the amazing pieces that adorn the women. But as much as I adore Balenciaga there won't be any my closet anytime soon. That's why I love the look above ~ all told it comes in at under $100. I'm particularly smitten by the tribal vibe of her {Forever 21!} top.

It's proof positive that amazing style doesn't require having to break the bank!

Precious Metals

Hello, I'm Erin and I'm addicted to statement jewelry, especially when they're chunky, unique, eye-catching pieces like the necklaces and gold rings by Esser Vesper and earrings by Fay Andrada.

It's my version of going al' natural!

I've Got a Crush {On BHLDN}

BHLDN is the brain child of Anthropologie alum Kristin Norris and her darling creative team. Here’s a little inside scoop on the name {because I didn’t get it at first either}: pronounced be~holden, BHLDN is actually based on the Dutch word blijven which means to keep. And their tagline is "Be You, Be Loved." Certainly do love that!

After being lucky enough to get a sneak peak at BHLDN’s first collection, I’d happily have and hold any of the spot-on bridal looks, party frocks, bridesmaid dresses, accessories or shoes. As the BHLDN team told us, the line seeks to capture the emotional qualities of life, for your big day and everyday, which I think is a rather fabulous brand ethos. {And one I can attest is truly heartfelt by the passionate BHLDN team}.

But really, they had me at the shoes.

There is entirely too much goodness to drool over but if I had to narrow my crushes down they’d have to include:

Gorgeous gowns,

Fanciful footwear,

Dazzling detail,

Fabulous flowers,

Sweet settings,

IMG_1096 IMG_1112

Blogging buddies,

Lovely lunches,

And on BHLDN’s utter charm and cheeky whit.

The BHLDN e-tail site goes live on Monday, February 14th {Valentine’s Day of course}. You'll not only get to purchase their gorgeous creations on the spot, you'll be able to get overnight delivery and enjoy free returns. Because if you want to get married next week and wear a fabulous dress you should be able to! Brilliant.

So for the lovely lady who find herself newly engaged next Monday, BHLDN will be your go-to spot for unique, accessible yet aspirational bridal style. Later this spring BHLDN will branch out into wedding dΓ©cor and event accessories, making it a truly one-stop-shop for a bride who wants to think out of the staid wedding box.

For the perpetual wedding fan {i.e. already married women like myself} I will be visiting BHLDN routinely to oohhh and ahhhh and get design inspiration for my own wedding & event styling services.

And, obviously, to pick up a fabulous pair of shoes {or two}!

Thank you BHLDN for inviting us to peak under your skirts before your big launch. I'll be sharing a few more of my favorite moments with you tomorrow so do check back.

You can see even more behind-the-scenes details from blogging darlings AmandaJen, JoyEmily, Vane and Joanna.

One of Those Days

I woke up this morning thinking it was Friday. But, alas it's not.

I think I need a moment to gather myself. Back in just a bit luvies!

Cookin' and Lookin' Good!

I rarely need an excuse to head into the kitchen because cooking is usually a place of refuge and relaxation for me. But if I had one or two {actually, I'll take all!} of these simply perfect Ice Milk Aprons, you'd have to drag me out of the kitchen kicking and screaming because I'd never want to take them off.

Function + spot on fasion = complete culinary delight!

Feelin' Peachy

Out and about at the park this weekend I spotted a little peachy-pink bud on cherry tree.

But as Monday morning dawned grey, dreary and cold, my dream of an early spring dimmed. For the time being, I'll turn to a  pops of peach to keep hope alive.

Because really, there's nothing classier, wouldn't you agree? Supple, luscious and oh so refined.

Thank you Stella, AlexandreChloe and Michael. Don't mind if I do.

Happy Monday luvies,
*Mrs. E

PS. Curious about my Monday workwear? I've started sharing my workwear looks on Twitter. You can take a peak here!

Supersize Me

I'm totally loving the look of the oversized accessories in both fashion and home decor these days.

A large piece creates a focal point and makes a stunning statement, either walking down the street or in your living room yet still doesn't seem totally in your face.

I'd love to turn this clutch into a work bag (practical no - but fabulous, yes!). And since I actually have high ceilings. that "desk lamp" would add the perfect quirk to the space!

Go big or go home people!

Monday {Black & White} Workwear

Some Monday mornings just need to be kept simple. There's no better way to streamline things than with a monochromatic color palette.

Or, combine the black and white and  guarantee your week will start off on a good foot.

Here's to a no muss, no fuss week luvies.

Happy Monday!

Style Gawking {Tulip Lousie}

I suspect the term style gawker was coined elsewhere, but I'm officially adopting it as it perfectly describes my reaction to amazing fashion moments. The huz is constantly mopping my jaw up of the ground when I spy a look I love.

Darling Anna, fashionista extraordinaire and professional stylist, not only had me drooling, but fully knocked me back on my heels with her amaze-balls style.

Anna's motto: "Life is too short to wear a bad outfit."

I <3 her.

Own the envy luvies. I certainly am! And be sure to check out more of Anna on her blog!

Monday {Be Bold} Workwear

Just because you're at the office doesn't mean your look needs to be totally boring serious. You can take a cue from the Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2011 collection (a designer that is growing on me all the time!)

You can take classic pieces like a pencil skirt, blazer or black cowl neck and pair them with a daring print, strong color, or unconventional accessory to stand out from the crowd.

I love the idea of making a statement without having to say a word!

Have a great week luvies.

What's In My Bag?

Today I'm participating in a fabulous blog crawl that Ashley from A Hasty Life put together. The "It's in the Bag" crawl features bloggers' handbags and their contents!

A Hasty Life

Nothing will get a girl organized faster than being asked to let others peak into her purse! But one of my new year's goals was organization so I can proudly say these are the actual contents of my daily bag.

I searched for the perfect carry-all that can hold absolutely everything I haul around  (including a laptop!) and withstand a beating forever. It seriously took months. But I finally came across orYANY, here. The line has the perfect combination of function and style that I needed for a daily work bag.

I was taken by the great leather, sturdy build and the super-fun lining!

Then there are my daily supplies. I hadn't really noticed before but apparently I've been liking red recently!

I try to carry the basics. Hair ties. Hand lotion. Notebook, day planner {Moleskin}, wallet {Kate Spade}, nude lipstick for day {Trish McEvoy}, berry lip gloss for happy hour {Chanel}, concealer for midday touch ups {Laura Mercier}, spot of perfume {Jo Malone} and a set of note cards {Peggy Wong}. My iPhone would be in there too if I hadn't been taking pictures with it.

Now, if I can keep myself that edited past the month of January I will be amazed!

Be sure to check out previous It's in the Bag posts here and the complete blog crawl schedule here. Next up, the bag of darling Colette from  Statements in Fashion!

Cheers luvies,
*Mrs. E

ALT ~ itude

If you've been bouncing around the blog or Twittersphere of late you may have heard about Alt Summit. It's a lifestyle blogger conference happening next week in Salt Lake City and this year I'm going to be there!

I could not be more excited to dig into all things creative/entrepreneurial/style-tastic. Not to mention finally getting to meet so many of my blogger friends face-to-face! That opportunity alone is worth the price of admission. But of course, there is the age of dilemma of what to wear!

Design conference + lifestyle bloggers + Utah + winter = ??? What is a girl to do?

I'm currently taking cues from these looks from See by Chloe.

The goal is relative comfort (for long periods of sitting), plenty of warmth  (for downtown exploring) and mad style (because it's Alt and you gotta bring it!).

I think this might be my day one look.

And if you're going to be there, do let me know because I want to finally put faces to blog headers! If you need wardrobe/packing planning help Alt Summit speaker and all around doll Kelly of Design Crush come up with this packing planner!

Eye Candy

I just couldn't resist sharing another sweet treat today. But this one is to whet your fashion cravings rather than your foodie ones. They make my mouth water just as much though!

I am positively salivating over these Alexander McQueen and Bottega Veneta clutches. They've got the perfect amount of bite to suit my taste and would be the perfect cherry on top of any look.

Soooo tempting, if I win the lottery!

Apartment 34 Sponsor {Keri L. Designs}

One of my new year's resolutions is to remember the accessories! It's amazing what the pop a set of bangles or the sizzle a good necklace can bring to an otherwise tame look. You can see my latest fave example of well-accessorized look here.

That's why I'm so excited to welcome our latest sponsor, Keri L. Designs jewelry. It's a killer line LA-based line of bracelets, rings, necklaces, earrings and (one for the boys!) cuff links.

414_Web_KeriJewelry-500x500 091_Web_KeriJewelry-330x330

All of Keri's pieces are infused with the perfect combo of California-cool and big-city edge that makes her them workwear appropriate and eye-catching all at the same time! I think the bullnose necklace is going to have to be mine.
