Feelin' Peachy

Out and about at the park this weekend I spotted a little peachy-pink bud on cherry tree.

But as Monday morning dawned grey, dreary and cold, my dream of an early spring dimmed. For the time being, I'll turn to a  pops of peach to keep hope alive.

Monday {Camel-Colored} Work Wear

This morning, as I came upon the first cold morning dew on my windshield I was reminded that September really is just around the corner! Sad, I know, but also brilliant for those of us who looovveeee fall fashion. Especially when it means I can start pulling out sumptuously yummy colors like camel.

The classic style makes saying goodbye to sunshine so much easier to stomach.

Speaking of classic style, I also have a very fun project to announce today!

This fall, the husband and I are offically embarking on a complete home overhaul. I'm talking redoing bathrooms, kitchens, floors, walls, landscaping - you name it, we're tackling it, all with the goal of turning our out-of-date abode into a timelessly stylish home.

This will mean lots of DIY projects, countless trips to the design center and Home Depot, files and files of inspriation and many, many, many blog posts! I do hope you'll enjoy coming along on this journey with me. I have a feeling it's going to be a doozy.

That's why I need to kick off the project in style too - with an Apartment 34 Giveaway!! You have the chance to kick off a design project of your own with Design in a Bag!

Bring on the Brights

I'm often a color-phobe, but now that May has already arrived (what?!), I think it's time to brighten things up!

You can add a pop of color at home with a hue-saturated napkin for dining al fresco, or take it out and about around your neck with a couture necklace. Either way, I'm ready to kick things up a notch this spring. You?

Wedding Wednesday {Bridal Brights}

This morning I was all gung-ho for a light or white monochromatic wedding color scheme and many of the comments seem to agree.

However, by this afternoon I was starting to wonder... You have to admit there is something to be said for the energy a good shot of color brings.

What say you my dears? Go color or go home?

Feelin' Fuschia

I've had this fuschia chair in my inspiration files for a few weeks now and I keep coming back to it. The residuals from an amazing Valentine's Day still have me hearting a deep pink. Then when I saw Cassandra condoned it, I was really convinced. Fuschia is where it's at!

Against bright white or popping off of a sultry blue, I think a dot or two of fuschia would keep the warm and fuzzy feelings going all year long, don't you?

Color Me Happy

Because Karen Walker certainly does! I always forget about her line but every time I check back, I'm thrilled.

When it comes to color, the Spring 2010 collection doesn't disappoint.

Brightens your day right?!

Moody Blues

I know earlier this week I was all about bright and airy spaces, but as the week has drawn on I've found myself craving a darker, lush corner to retreat to.

The blue-ish grays in these spaces are totally drawing me in.

Maybe I'll take a cue from Miss Cassandra and take a dark paint to my walls....or maybe I'll just start with a few navy pillows!

In Full Technicolor

It may be dark and dreary now but I have a feeling it's not going to last for much longer. It's just about time to push back the veil of winter and bring on color and in a big, bold way!

Get ready my dears, a spring bloom of saturated hues is coming. And I think it feels good.

Don't hold back now, ya hear!

Subtle Blues

Jewel tones may be the rage for fall, but I am still drawn to all shades of blue.

There's something calming yet still plush about them.
