Precious Metals

precious metals via spartan shop

Hello, I'm Erin and I'm addicted to statement jewelry, especially when they're chunky, unique, eye-catching pieces like the necklaces and gold rings by Esser Vesper and earrings by Fay Andrada.

It's my version of going al' natural!

Apartment 34 Sponsor {Keri L. Designs}

One of my new year's resolutions is to remember the accessories! It's amazing what the pop a set of bangles or the sizzle a good necklace can bring to an otherwise tame look. You can see my latest fave example of well-accessorized look here.

That's why I'm so excited to welcome our latest sponsor, Keri L. Designs jewelry. It's a killer line LA-based line of bracelets, rings, necklaces, earrings and (one for the boys!) cuff links.

All of Keri's pieces are infused with the perfect combo of California-cool and big-city edge that makes her them workwear appropriate and eye-catching all at the same time! I think the bullnose necklace is going to have to be mine.

New Year's Eve Fashion Fix

Did you, like me, fail to find that perfect frock for a rockin' New Year's Eve? Take heart, all is not lost. You can ring in the new year with statement making style.

Simply pull out your best LBD ( or insert t-shirt + skinny jeans, tank + mini, cashmere sweater + wide leg trousers per your personal fashionista preference) and add an outrageous statement necklace. Any of these from Tom Binns will do quite nicely.

Snapped: Estelle & Elizabeth Mathis Go for Bold Baubles

From diamonds to crystals, bold baubles are a girl's best friend on the red carpet this week. We snapped shots of Estelle at the New York premiere of 'For Colored Girls' and model/actress Elizabeth Mathis at the Los Angeles premiere of 'Unstoppable' donning some major bling. Coast to coast, dressing up is all about wearing at least one statement making timepiece that will compliment and make your look pop.

If you're eager to amp up your wow factor head to Oohilove.com, a new online auction site where fashionistas can obtain newly released luxury designer accessories for a fraction of the retail price. Vanessa Motley, Head Buyer and Fashion Expert of Oohilove suggests, "Keeping track of what designers and styles people are talking about so you can buy similar items for less at your favorite stores."

Before you go overboard on the gems, celebrity jeweler and CEO of MyJewelryBox.com, David Mamane, warns that moderation is a must. Jewelry can highlight features that you want to draw attention to, whether it is your eyes, face, or neck.

"If you want to accentuate your eye color, sport a pair of complementary colored earrings. To complement a round face and add definition, wear a necklace that extends below the neckline," advices Mamane. "Just remember, you only need one piece to accentuate – too many accessories distract from those features you want to enhance."

I am lusting after these blue green hues and "drunken cut" stones. The gold only makes them more magical and glittery. Very Blue Lagoon.

Rope Jewelry

Lately I have been noticing all sorts of cool jewelry made out of rope. While rope on it's own would make a somewhat unexceptional piece, pair it with gold or silver, and interesting stones and viola some amazingly unique pieces.

Dominic Jones Jewelry

I recently came across this bold line of animalistic jewelry by designer Dominic Jones. I love the predatory aspect to these pieces and yet the gold makes them look chic and glamorous. They would be so fun to wear!

Lizzie Fortunato Jewelry

I went into one of my favorite stores in my Brooklyn neighborhood Stuart and Wright. Where I have never actually bought anything but I go to regularly to ogle all of the eye candy and beautifully crafted items (that I can't afford). Today I found something really spectacular...these beautiful baubles by Lizze Fortunato. I love the tribal details and bohemian vibe of these pieces.

Rose Gold - Perfect for the Summer

Rose Gold

I have a recent fixation with rose gold. It is the perfect metallic shade for the summer. It has that soft "sunset" feel to it and makes me long for evening walks on the beach and poolside cocktails.

Shown: Pailenette Mini $420 and Reva Tory Burch Flats $255 MyTheresa.com, Michael Kors Watch $250 and Chan Luu Wrap Bracelet $220 Net-a-Porter, Laura Lee Rose Stud Earrings $115 and Lola Rose Gold Sandstone Semi Precious Ring $235 Asos.com

Jazz Festival in New Orleans Fashion

Jazz Feastival

I am headed to Jazz Fest in New Orleans on Thursday and wanted to share this New Orleans inspired post for my trip. New Orleans is the perfect city to wear a bit of lace and old fashioned jewelry. But walking around all day you need a good pair (and of course stylish shoes). And last but not least some cut-offs and a rock and roll style bag with fringe and a long strap that won't get in the way when you are dancing in the streets.

Shown: Butterfly Lace Frill Hem $65 Topshop, Antik Batik Bongo Bag $320 Net-a-Porter, Gap Destructed jean shorts $25, Narciso Sunglasses - Roberto Cavalli $285 Forzieri.

House of Harlow - Deco Jewelry

House of Harlow
by featuring

I have been following Nicole Richies jewelry line House of Harlow for a while. I think she has a great sense of style and the vintage inspired art deco pieces shown here from her line are great.

Shown: Yellow Gold Plated And Black Resin Necklace $200, Peacock Cuff in Gold Singer22.com $115, Gold Plated Black Enamel Earrings and $79 Gold Aztec Bangle with Leather $75 aasos.com.

Feeling Flighty

The trend may have passed by now but these gorgeous necklaces by Candace Ang have me still loving feathers.

How great would they look against a simple tank, skirt and wedges in Mexico?!

Small Wonder

As my friends will atest, I'm a sucker for necklaces, especially ones with a single design element like a charm, stone, or bead. Every time I pass one I cannot resist. So of course when I stumbled upon A Small Collection I was immediately smitten.

I love the white on white with the leather strap and the gorgeous wood bead with the smallest pop of turquoise. Add them to a simple tank, skinny jeans and spring sandals and you're ready for an evening out.

Simple, stylish, stunning. Thank goodness they're only online - so I can keep my impulse shopping urges at bay!

Earrings by Plume of The Banquet Brooklyn

I am loving the lavishness and decadence of these earrings by Plume. The gold and diamond cascades remind me of another era one with more style and grace. While the studs can be worn daily adding just the right touch of glamour for any outfit. Available at The Banquet (formerly Council) in Brooklyn.

This Season's Must Have Accessory: A Watch

If you are trying to figure out what must have accessory to invest in this season the perfect thing is these oversized watches. They add a bit of sophistication and heavy metal (bling!) to the most casual or the dressiest of outfits. The bigger the better! Shown here: Swatch Fancy Me Watch at Nordstrom $150 and Michael Kors Gold Midsized Cushion Watch $250 Neiman Marcus.

David vs. Goliath

I was recently lucky enough to win a blogger giveaway. Thanks to Her name was Lola, I'm now the proud owner of a lavish lucky lady necklace from minoux jewelry

All of line's pieces have exquisite, delicate combinations of metals and semiprecious stones like the round up and the outskirts necklaces.

On the other hand, the work of Draugsvold jewelry looks almost medieval yet equally stunning.

I don't know about you, but between the two lines, I think it's a pretty fair fight.

Charmed, I'm Sure

I keep coming back to look at these pretty wrap bracelets from Citrine by the Stones.

A perfect stocking stuffer, don't you agree? You can check out more lovelies here.
