Supersize Me

I'm totally loving the look of the oversized accessories in both fashion and home decor these days.

A large piece creates a focal point and makes a stunning statement, either walking down the street or in your living room yet still doesn't seem totally in your face.

I'd love to turn this clutch into a work bag (practical no - but fabulous, yes!). And since I actually have high ceilings. that "desk lamp" would add the perfect quirk to the space!

Go big or go home people!

Landscape Lighting Design Ideas

Landscape lighting is usually installed along walkways, steps, and driveways, pointing up at trees, walls, and fences.

Most gardeners plan for their landscapes to be viewed during daylight hours, but outdoor lighting and landscape lighting can extend your enjoyment into the evening. Landscape lighting makes your garden come alive, highlighting the curved branches of a Japanese maple or lighting a rippling pond. Soft light shows off the artistry of flowers, shrubs, trees and landscape accents in a new and different way.

Outdoor lighting and landscape lighting provide an amazing opportunity to create magic and fantasy for an otherwise dark and shadowed space. Planning and installing outdoor lighting is easier than ever with low-voltage lighting. Low-voltage landscape lighting is a simple improvement that can make a huge difference in the safety and security of your home as well as how it looks after dusk.

These are some of the lanscape lighting design ideas. The first step is deciding what type of nighttime atmosphere you want to achieve. Well-executed lighting is subtle, so observe how different home landscape are lighted when you walk or drive around at night. Make notes of the ideas you like. Then, take a critical look at the landscape area you want to light. Be sure to stand where others will be viewing the landscape.

For the front yard, stand at the curb and look toward the house. For the back yard, stand in the area where you do most of your entertaining. On a pad of paper, draw the landscape and mark the best features. Let your imagination paint a picture with light. Envision light splashed on a fence, highlighting a pathway or shining up a tree.

Bedecked and Bedazzled

My fascination with all things that glitter continues. I think humans are fascinated by shiny beautiful things from birth. At least I know I've been. That's why when I spotted this amazing light by Justin Giunta I just kept digging deeper.

Justin's jewelry line, called Subversive, is anything but. These are pieces that pack a powerful punch while still being just the right amount of pretty. I'm in love.

With the bib necklace and chunky jewelry trends in full force these pieces would work wonderfully. Remember this fashionista? She certainly knows how to work it!
