Celebrity Quote of the Day - Donatella Versace

"Our daughter, Allegra has been battling anorexia,
a very serious disease, for many years. She is receiving the best medical care possible to help overcome this illness and is responding well.
Allegra is not at present staying in any hospital, she is living in her private residence and her condition does not cause particular concerns.
As parents, we are doing our best to protect our daughter. However, due to numerous media reports, we want to let everyone know that we appreciate their concern for Allegra, and we ask that her privacy be respected at this time."

Olivia Newton-John's Daughter Struggles With Anorexia

Olivia Newton-John and her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, 21, gave an interview to Australian magazine Woman’s Day this week about Chloe’s struggle with anorexia.

Chloe, given your mother is so healthy and clear-headed, did it take her long to see the signs?

I think that it’s hard for a parent to notice what their child is going through. Maybe sometimes parents don’t want to notice what’s going on. As a parent, you want to think everything is ok.

How did your mum react when you told her about your anorexia?

There wasn’t really a moment when I told her I had a problem. I was more in denial about it. I think she was the one that had to come to terms with it because everyone was in denial. When you go through things like that it’s a long process of accepting what’s going on.

Chloe, you’re still very slim today. Do you feel you’ve now triumphed over your eating disorder?

I’m taking very good care of myself now but I’m not going to be like ‘Oh, I eat pizza every day!’ And I’m honest about that. It hurts my heart when I think how many girls are going through that [eating disorders], and I’m lucky that I got through it because it’s a fatal thing if you don’t pull through it.

Olivia, what advice would you give to mothers in your situation?

That the parent need look at why their child has developed such a detrimental disease. And look at the issues causing the disorder. Listen to your child. Be supportive. Eating disorders are usually nothing to do with food. Parents need to be with their child to see them through it. All the therapists in the world can’t help if the parents aren’t present, loving and proactive.

Britney Spears Suffered Bulimia For Years

It has surfaced that Britney Spears told doctors at rehab that she has been bulimic since the age of 16.

Reportedly Britney told staff at Promises that she had the disease for years, with the exception of her pregnancies.

According to an American magazine, Spears admitted that she “pigs out” on junk food before she purges. A source told the Daily Express,

"Doctors are alarmed at the physical state she is in. They confronted her about her desperately unhealthy lifestyle and the truth came pouring out.

“For the first few days, she’d take her tablets, then go off and eat breakfast or lunch. She was throwing the whole lot up, so, naturally, her medications weren’t working. Now the medical experts know why, her progress should pick up a little speed."

Nicole Richie Hospitalized This Weekend

Usmagazine.com reported yesterday that Nicole Richie was been hospitalized after having a dizzy spell on the set of 'The Simple Life'.

Nicole was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after she started to feel faint and dizzy after 20 hours of filming.

She was on call until 2 a.m. Saturday morning, and had to back on the set a few hours later. Richie was hurried through hair and make-up first thing in the morning and was unable to eat 'due to a tight shooting schedule'.

Producers later rushed Richie to the hospital after she began to complain that she felt dizzy.

At the hospital, Richie was given fluids and food and was released soon after.

"Nicole has gained weight and is doing really well," says a source. "She is proud of that. The producers overreacted, she didn't need to go to the hospital."

Richie's rep issued this statement: "Nicole is home resting and will return to work this evening. We are proud of the weight that Nicole is gaining and her focus on her health."

Mariah Carey Against Banning Size Zero Models

Mariah Carey arrived home this past Saturday after spending a week in London.

While there a reporter from the UK's Daily Mail asked Mariah what she thought of banning size zero models in fashion shows.

"I don't think anyone should be banned from anything,"
Carey told the Daily Mail.

"There should not be a precedent. That cannot work if you are naturally a size zero. As long as it's not leading people to do harmful things to themselves to achieve that, then it's fine."

Sounds good to me, but I don't think the problem is the size zero models who were born that way.

Let's get real. The problem is the ones who are taking extreme measures to obtain a size zero, or whatever size it is. Hell, someone could be a size three and could easily be knocking on death's door. Mariah's answer just completely skirted the issue. Not that I would expect much else from Mariah.

Thinking be to hard!
